No experience needed!

Our pottery throwing sessions are primarily offered on Thursdays, when the wheels are set up and ready in the studio.

If you’d like to book a throwing session on another day, we can often accommodate this by request. Please get in touch with us before booking and we’ll do our best to help.

Choose from three pottery wheel options depending on how much guidance you’d like. We have two tabletop pottery wheels, allowing us to accommodate up to two people at a time.

25-Minute Throwing Taster – £25

A fully guided introduction to the pottery wheel, perfect for complete beginners.

You’ll be taught step by step through the entire throwing process, with hands-on support throughout. By the end of the session, you’ll create one small pot or bowl to keep. Tabletop wheels are available for this session if preferred.

After your session, we’ll bisque fire your piece. Once ready, you can:

• Book a pottery painting session (£5) to glaze it yourself (includes 2 hours of painting time), or

• Choose a clear glaze finish for free, and we’ll glaze and fire it for you.

1-Hour Guided Pottery Wheel Lesson – £45

A one-to-one or one-to-two session with Jess, ideal for those wanting to develop their skills and confidence.

You’ll begin with a fully guided throw, just like the taster session, ensuring you successfully make your first pot or bowl. You’ll then have another one or two throws, with Jess talking you through each stage while being less hands-on, so you can practise and build independence on the wheel. Tabletop wheels can be used for this session if needed.

1-Hour Unguided Wheel Session – £25

Best suited to confident beginners or returning throwers.

You’ll receive two balls of clay and have a full hour on the wheel to practise independently, using what you’ve already learnt. There’s no pressure to finish anything – this session is about experimenting, refining technique, and enjoying the process. Tabletop wheels are also available for unguided sessions.

Extra clay can be purchased during your visit if you’d like more time or materials.

Once bisque fired, your chosen pieces can either be:

• Glazed by you in a pottery painting session (£5), or

• Clear glazed by us at no extra cost.
