Abstract Floral Painting Workshop: 27th September 7-9pm

£40.00

Join us for an evening to paint with local artist Caroline Clark (Caz). Take some time out to enjoy the freedom of colour and being creative. No experience or materials necessary. Caz will lead you through a practical session and will introduce you to the fun that painting florals and painting abstractly can be.

You will take part in a 2-hour session where you will produce 3 abstract paintings on paper, roughly 20 x 20 cm. Each of these will be finished with country flower images that you will add to the artwork with stencils and freehand. The paintings will be floral in nature, on an abstract background using acrylic paint, oil and chalk pastels. All materials will be provided along with a lovely cuppa and baked treat to help you get your creative juices going.

Caz is an approachable and friendly teacher who is happy to encourage and support you in this creative session. She will be on hand throughout to offer ideas and technical expertise so that you have a really enjoyable and fun experience. As an artist with over 25 years of personal experience and practice, Caz loves to share the pleasure of painting with others.

About The Artist: CAROLINE CLARK

Bishops Stortford, Hertfordshire

My art is based on three ideals – joy of colour, the process of painting and gratitude for what is around me.

I am an artist with over 25 years of experience, living on the borders of rural Essex and Hertfordshire, producing landscapes and abstract paintings based on the amazing local countryside that surrounds me here and in North Wales.

Statement:

I love colour and the relationship we have with it – the way it makes you feel and memories it invokes. My palette is often bright and cheerful, and I enjoy looking at shape and patterns and the relationship they have with each other on the canvas. I mainly use acrylic for its immediacy as well as using other mixed media to develop each individual piece until there is balance and cohesion.

The process of painting makes me happy, and I find that if I have been indoors for too long, I have to trudge off into the fields with my easel and a canvas under my arm; it makes me feel like myself again. Most of all, I love painting my local area around Bishop’s Stortford and Sawbridgeworth as I look to create an intuitive visual language that describes my experiences.
