About Us

Hi, I am Jess, the owner of The Little Arts Workshop.

I took over from the founding owner, Emma Atkinson, in July 2019 (yes, just before lockdown!). Previously, I had worked in various art settings as both a maker and in administration. I studied Glass Design at Edinburgh Art College and have had a busy and very interesting time over the years creating artwork for myself and others. I have had the opportunity to create commissions for various high-profile locations and have sold my artwork around the world. When the opportunity to purchase the workshop came about, I had taken a short career break to have my children and was trying to figure out what I could do next to fit in with my young family. This presented the perfect opportunity, and so, as a joke, it shortly became my 3rd baby. Emma had done a wonderful job of establishing the business and gave me a solid foundation to build upon. Lockdown was tricky, but the business was able to adapt by offering hampers and kits, which we still offer today.

I am blessed to have a supportive family and a team of wonderful people around me, enabling me to share my love for creating and visual art.

My aim for the workshop is to create an inclusive and welcoming space for people to unwind and unleash their creativity. I hope to offer opportunities to the wider community and increase awareness of various art forms.

I hope to see you soon,
Jess

We have a selection of nibbles and treats, fruit and cookies and often also stock freshly baked cakes and muffins. We served a range of teas and coffees and also offer a selection of cold drinks.

We have plenty of free parking. There are spaces in front of the workshop, and even more behind. You can park on the main road at certain times, but please check restrictions.

You can bring your buggy and we will either find somewhere to stash it or if we’re not too busy you can just keep it next to you. We have a toilet on-site with a child seat and baby change unit.

We are wheelchair accessible, we have a ramp for the entrance and make sure you have enough room to move around the workshop freely, however access to our toilet is narrow so please bear this in mind when planning your visit.
